The Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria (ACAN), is set hold a two-day workshop on “Anti-Corruption and Ethics” for operatives in Nigerian Airports, cutting across different organisations.
The workshop is scheduled to hold from Thursday 14th to Friday 15th July, 2016 in the Auditorium at the Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria, Keffi, Nasarawa State. It is targeted at Airport workers and stakeholders in the nation’s airports, including staff of Federal Ministry of Aviation (FMA), Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), National Airspace Management Agency (NAMA), Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB), Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Nigeria Custom Service (NCS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), State Security Service (SSS), National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Aviation Handlers, Airport Security Officers and Car Hire Service Providers of Government.
The objective of the programme is to build the capacity of participants to appreciate the import of projecting the image of Nigeria positively to potential international visitors and investors; check opportunities for corruption, corrupt practices and unethical conduct; and promote high ethical standards in airport operations.
Issues to be addressed during the workshop include: the theoretical concepts of ethics, integrity and transparency; ethical issues in the aviation sector; ethical values needed at the airports; best practices in the aviation sector; code of ethics for aviation workers; case studies; the Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000 and relevant legal frameworks.
The facilitators for the workshop include experienced public officials and staff of anti-corruption agencies.
