The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has called for the continued cooperation between the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and ICPC in the fight against corruption.
ICPC’s Kano State Commissioner, Shehu Yahaya made the call recently when he led a delegation of some senior officers of the state office on a courtesy visit to the NSCDC State Commandant, Mohammed Yusha’u Aliyu.
Yahaya stated that the aim of the visit was to solicit the cooperation as well as sustain the cordial relationship between ICPC and NSCDC in order to educate and enlighten the public on the ills of corruption.
In his response, the NSCDC Commandant said he appreciated the visit of the State ICPC Commissioner, saying that the two agencies were like sisters.
“…Working with ICPC is like working at home and your Commission is free to solicit for our official support in any way or even use the facilities of our command, if the need arises.” he added.
He promised to give his full support to ICPC and forward all corruption-related cases to ICPC.
Aliyu also enjoined all his officers to extend their maximum co-operation to all Kano ICPC office staff in their efforts to minimise corruption in the state.
