The Anti-Corruption Academy of Nigeria, ACAN, in collaboration with Foundation for Transparency and Accountability (FTA) has concluded plans to commence a two-day National Capacity Building Workshop on Achieving Zero Tolerance for Corruption in the Procurement Process of the Legislature.
The workshop which is scheduled to hold from Monday 20th to Tuesday 21st June, 2016 will take place in the Auditorium at the ICPC Headquarters in Abuja. It is targeted at Clerks, Deputy Clerks, Directors of Procurement, Directors of Finance and other relevant procurement officers in the State Houses of Assembly.
The programme is aimed at building the capacity of participants to appreciate the concept and import of zero tolerance, and promote integrity, transparency and accountability in the procurement process of the State Houses of Assembly.
Issues to be addressed during the workshop include: Best practices in public procurement process; typologies of corruption and corrupt practices in procurement, their prevention and consequences; conflict of interest; Public Procurement Act, 2007; Fiscal Responsibility Act, 2007; Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Act, 2000; Promoting zero tolerance for corruption in the workplace.
The facilitators for the workshop include experienced public officials and staff of anti-corruption agencies.
